Erica Vienneau
After many years in the field of the helping professionals, I am well aware of the positive impacts of clinical therapy. People grant me the place they wish for me to occupy in the privacy of their lives. They request services in the hopes of resolving past wounds, to improve their quality of life, etc. or to better understand the experience of a loved one. Whatever the reason, the journey is made according to their needs and objectives.

Sophie Bernard, RSW, graduated from Université de Moncton in 2007, with a Bachelor in Social Work. After 15 years of working in the field, she is still as passionate about helping/supporting others along their life journey and more specifically with helping individuals break the cycle of violence. Throughout the different roles Sophie had in her career, she had the privilege to help youths, individuals, couples and families dealing with : intimate partner violence, the impact of trauma/abuse & neglect, crisis situations, substance use, grief/loss, compassion fatigue/burnout, etc. She also supported individuals who wanted to create healthier relationships with themselves and others by re-building their self-esteem, increasing self-awareness and learning effective ways to communicate and to manage their emotions (i.e. Anger, Anxiety, Depression, etc). Sophie knows how ‘’reaching out’’ is often the hardest, yet most important step to take for ourselves and she looks forward to helping you determine what the next step will be to get from where you are to where you want to be.
Sophie is described as having a kind, supportive and non-judgmental approach. She is a great listener, easy to talk too and comes with a great sense of humor! Sophie is certified in Choice Theory and has acquired & continues to fuel her passion by learning new skills to add to her helper’s toolbox. However, she believes in adapting to the needs of the person(s) in front of her so she draws from different approaches to meet their individual needs (i.e. Brief Solution Focus, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy Strategies, Mindfulness, Trauma Informed, Impact Therapy Techniques, etc.) all while building on their individual strengths.

Alisson is a bilingual Registered Social Worker (RSW) who has received a bachelor’s
degree in Psychology in 2020, and a Bachelor's degree in Social Work in 2022, both
from the Université de Moncton. Her choice to pursue her studies in the field of social
work was rooted in the idea of helping individuals by preventing, avoiding, and working
on individual and situational barriers, in the hopes of a better quality of life.
She is currently pursuing a master’s degree of Social Work, during which she is
particularly interested in trauma-informed and trauma-focused approaches, especially in
contexts of intervention with people who use substances. As part of her social work
training, Alisson completed her internships in a community organization, working along
homelessness and substance abuse issues, as well as in clinical therapy, using different
approaches such as Play-Therapy, Trauma-Informed, Solution-Focused, and Cognitive-
Behavioral Therapy (CBT).
Those experiences combined with her passion for helping others led her to seek more
experience in the counselling field to deepen her skills and knowledge in intervention.
Alisson describes her therapeutic approach as empathetic, supportive, non-judgmental
and focused on the person, their needs, their goals and their individual strengths. She
also considers the great importance of the social environment and previous experiences
in the journey of seeking help, which is illustrated in her psychosocial and trauma-
informed approach.
